Toronto IMATS 2011

This year's Toronto IMATS was a lot of fun, with cool demonstrations, great product deals and tons of make-up professionals everywhere!

Complections was proud to be represented by three graduates at this year's student competition: From the fashion/beauty competition, Marissa Clemence and Bettina Lee, and from the prosthetics competition, Tara Brawley. All three graduates did fantastic jobs on their entries.

Complections would like to take this opportunity to congratulate graduate Bettina Lee in particular, who took home second place in the beauty/fantasy competition with her stunning make-up design! We can't wait to see what happens next year!

Complections Professional Zombie Workshop 2011

On October 18th and 20th, Complections was host to two amazing zombie workshops for Halloween lovers, Toronto Zombie Walk fanatics, horror buffs and just about everyone else! The first event booked up so quickly that we decided to hold a second workshop, which filled up almost as fast!

Attendees were shown many cool zombie techniques ranging from basic to advanced by esteemed Complections instructors and zombie experts Neil Morrill and Kyle Glencross.

The workshops went fabulously (and were quite a bit messier than last year!). Everyone who came out had an absolutely fabulous time: our zombies were being swamped with attendees looking to take pictures at the end of the night!

IMATS 2010 - Toronto

Complections was pleased to be a part of this year's IMATS in Toronto. Our booth was very busy, with industry professionals and prospective students stopping by to chat with our faculty and student ambassadors, and to check out our amazing demonstrations!

M.A.C. Grad Event

Complections grads were treated to another amazing event at the M.A.C. Bloor Street location, where Senior Artist Jane McKay gave a trend seminar for the lucky attendees; she created a gorgeous "runway inspired" look on graduate Daniela Polla.

Grads also had the opportunity to meet with the Regional Recruiter, Vanessa Kong, to show her their resumés and learn more about career opportunities at M.A.C. Another amazing night of support for our wonderful alumni!

Triple Threat

From June 17th until the 26th, the play Triple Threat runs at the Berkley Theatre in downtown Toronto. Complections is a sponsor of the show, and one of our extremely talented graduates, Andrée-Ann Boisvert, designed the make-up for the show.

Fashion Panel Lunch & Learn

On June 8th, Complections welcomed a panel of the Canadian fashion industry’s key members to give a talk on organizing fashion creatives. Tracy Brown, a booker with renowned agency Judy INC, stylist extraordinaire Amy Lu, and photographer Maxime Bocken (Today’s Bride, Z!nk) sat down with a group of students to speak about their individual roles in putting together photo shoots, and how they work with make-up artists to create the gorgeous images we see in magazines and advertisements. Students were also able to ask questions and learn about the exciting industry they will enter after graduation.

Lunch & Learn with Kristin Ma

Complections grad Kristen Ma stopped by for another successful Lunch & Learn. She discussed being an entrepreneur in the beauty business, offered helpful advice to the students, and spoke about her recently published book, Beauty 2.0.
