Courses | Film and Television Makeup | Complections International Academy of Make-up Artistry Film and Television Make-up An artist working in film and television must become an expert in all types of make-up application for working on a film set, on location, or in a studio. This course begins with an examination of the film and television industry, including terminology, job descriptions, set protocol and etiquette. Students learn the importance of script breakdown and continuity, and their relation to make-up design and application. Differences and similarities between mediums (film, video, High Definition) is also studied. Make-up application techniques covered in this course include: straight make-up for men and women; aging; period; character breakdown; bruises, cuts, lacerations, incisions and scrapes; burns (first, second, and third degree; partial to full thickness); frostbite (all stages); diseases and their different stages; injuries (bullet wounds, puncture wounds, scars); blood work (continuity and logic); different techniques for tattoo application; dental cosmetics; facial hair application, removal, styling and maintenance; and applying bald caps.
