Living in Toronto | Complections International Academy of Make-up Artistry Living in Toronto Population Toronto is Canada’s largest city and boasts over 2.5 million residents in the city proper, with another million or so in the suburbs. It is the most culturally diverse city in the world, and the majority of our population belongs to a visible minority. This is reflected in our neighborhoods including Little Italy, Chinatown, Greektown, Kensington Market, Little India and more. Weather Toronto’s climate is distinctive due to its four separate seasons. Winter falls from November to mid-April with its fair share of cold snaps and temperatures at -10C (made to feel colder by the wind chill). Snow mixed with rain and ice cause work and travel disruptions; nevertheless, mild stretches do occur with temperatures of 5C to 14C melting the accumulated snow. As if to make amends for the cold, summer in Toronto consists of long stretches of hot and humid weather. General temperatures of 20-29C occur during the summer but they do exceed 35C from time to time. When mixed with the humidity and occasional smog, it can be quite unbearable to be outside without shade and plenty of water. Spring and autumn are fairly mild times of the year. Spring is characterized by precipitation, and runs from April to early June; Autumn’s beautiful warm weather runs from August to November.
